ABOUT THE FARM
Running Creeks Farm along with its farm studio, The Art Barn, is located just minutes off of I-79 on the Lost Creek Exit 110. It is a small family farm nestled in the West Virginia Hills and is home to goats, miniature horses, ducks, geese, turkeys, rabbits, chickens, peacocks, cats, dogs, and the Crim family who is blessed to be the caretakers of it all!
The forty acre farm is made up of rolling hills, babbling creeks, and a barnyard full of animals who call it home. What started years ago as a backyard chicken coop with six chickens has gradually grown to include all kinds of barnyard animals with a few more on their way! There is always something to do on the farm and it’s a constant work in progress. We have built fence, added outbuildings, put up our own hay, planted a big garden, and added The Art Barn studio space! There is always a list of projects going on. The farm is an awful lot of hard work, but itsa labor of love and so worth it. We are so excited to share the farm with you!
THE FARMERS
Michael & Diana Crim
The farm was purchased by Michael and Diana Crim in 2018, making a lifelong dream come true for our family. We are so happy here! We dreamed of owning a farm and searched hard to find property to expand our livestock beyond six chickens and two goats. Michael’s requirement was that there had to be a barn! It has been a team effort but with the help of the Good Lord, good family, and good friends, Running Creeks Farm and The Art Barn have become a reality.
THE ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
Along with my passion for animals and all things farm related, I have a passion for creativity and all things art! The Art Barn has given me a way to combine my loves of farm and art and share them with children.
I love sharing the barnyard bunch with children. It’s my favorite part! The excitement is contagious when the animals come to greet them. It is all smiles and pure joy! I want children to experience more than a petting zoo and have the opportunity to experience the animals in their environment and learn from it. There is so much to share!
I have always been a creative soul since I was a child. I have fifteen years experience teaching art to kids. It is my happy place! I am so excited to have a space on the farm to be creative with kids and make great art. Kids ooze creativity, and when given the tools and freedom to create, they can do some amazing things. I am so excited to share my love of art and fill the studio with the creativity of children. It’s gonna be so much fun!
